TÜV AUSTRIA has acquired a majority stake in the Austrian company Systemhaus SPP Handelsges.m.b.H. as part of its growth strategy and internationalization in the field of IT security. It has been agreed that TÜV AUSTRIA will gradually increase its stake in the company until complete takeover.
TÜV AUSTRIA is planning to expand its IT security services in view of the increasingly complex and demanding requirements on information security made by companies and authorities. In line with this strategy it has acquired a majority holding in SPP. The IT company from Vienna offers individually tailored services as well as a comprehensive product portfolio for optimizing security in companies and public institutions. It has more than 25 years of experience in IT and maintains excellent relations with international manufacturers in the core areas of its service portfolio.
“Cyber security is a highly topical and very diverse subject, ranging from office communications to Industry 4.0 through to autonomous driving”, Dr Stefan Haas, CEO of TÜV AUSTRIA, emphasized. “All aspects of the digital shift involve a great number of security requirements due to the fact that they are interconnected in increasingly complex ways. Accordingly, we are positioning ourselves in this field covering the entire spectrum across all sectors.” SPP is an important element in this endeavor, allowing TÜV AUSTRIA to actively respond to the strong demand in the market and to achieve greater market penetration in the IT security segment. Added to that, the complementary competencies of SPP enable TÜV AUSTRIA to expand its offers regarding increasingly complex cyber threats.
“Customers want complete packages tailored to their needs – comprising analyses, solutions and security products”, Detlev Henze, Managing Director of TÜV TRUST IT TÜV AUSTRIA GmbH explained. “The specialist expertise of SPP allows us to also include product solutions derived from processes aiming to optimize security.” He pointed to the complementary competencies of TÜV AUSTRA, bringing long-standing experience ranging from consulting to implementation, inspection and certification to the table, and SPP, which contributes its core competencies in IT security, document management as well as security information and event management (SIEM). “This will allow us to jointly offer our customers individual solutions to the new challenges of years to come.” According to him, the increase in specialist resources is a crucial additional advantage, given the considerable lack of IT security experts in the labor market at the moment.
Harald Galbavy, Managing Director of SPP, added that the collaboration provides synergies that boost the IT company’s competitiveness. “Working with an international partner such as TÜV AUSTRIA, which has excellent industry expertise, particularly in the field of technology, opens up new opportunities for us to establish future-oriented solutions in the market.”
