Certified safety at Hotel Hilton Vienna

Safety is a major concern at Hotel Hilton Vienna. As of now, Austria's largest hotel, boasting 579 rooms, is certified in accordance with the TÜV AUSTRIA Hotel Safety & Security Standard. On 31 May, the certificate was handed over by Stefan Wallner, Executive Director of TÜV AUSTRIA CERT GMBH and Business Area Manager LTC - Life, Training & Certification. The TÜV AUSTRIA Hotel Safety & Security Certificate serves as confirmation for Hotel Hilton Vienna of a maximum level of safety for its employees, guests and their property.

“Safety is a valuable asset. Many commodities are considered par for the course these days but our guests expect more than just tastefully furnished rooms and a sumptuous breakfast buffet”, Norbert B. Lessing, Country General Manager Hilton Hotels Austria, explained. “This is why we decided to make Hotel Hilton Vienna am Stadtpark the first hotel to be certified in compliance with the new TÜV AUSTRIA Hotel Safety & Security Standard.” Ronald Diesenreiter, Hotel Manager of Hotel Hilton Vienna, added: “The well-being and safety of our guests and employees are our top priorities. The Hilton Group maintains high internal standards but having our hotel certified by TÜV AUSTRIA means that safety and security in our hotel have been checked by an independent body for the first time. Now we are proud to publicly present the result.”

Following a comprehensive audit conducted by experts from TÜV AUSTRIA, Hotel Hilton Vienna has received a certificate that is valid for three years. An annual monitoring audit must be carried out as a prerequisite for maintaining the certification. The TÜV AUSTRIA Hotel Safety & Security Standard differs from other existing systems of evaluation: while hotel stars and other marks of quality apply to areas such as furnishings, quality of service and the range of culinary offers – i.e. mostly areas which the guest is personally aware of – TÜV AUSTRIA’s Hotel Safety & Security Standard concerns itself with what is going on behind the scenes. All safety-relevant aspects regarding hygiene, water quality and technical systems, fire protection and IT security are tested and inspected. The emergency management plan is also reviewed in the course of the certification audit.

“There is no other product on the market to match the TÜV AUSTRIA Hotel Safety & Security Standard. The need for safety and security on holiday as well as on business trips has been growing significantly in recent years. Consumers had no relevant facts at their disposal to inform their booking decisions until now”, Stefan Wallner, Executive Director of TÜV AUSTRIA CERT GMBH and Business Area Manager LTC – Life, Training & Certification, commented on the new TÜV AUSTRIA standard. “On the one hand, we offer guests an additional tool to support them in their booking decisions, on the other, we provide hotels with an opportunity to make their activities more transparent and to present them publicly, which gives them a competitive edge.”
