The military logistics school provides training and further education for the service troops of the Austrian Armed Forces at four institutes: Technical Services, Economic Services, Supply and Transportation. TÜV AUSTRIA Academy offers training and further education in four main areas: safety, technology, environment and quality. There has been a regular professional exchange between the two organisations for many years, so it was only a matter of time until they would partner up.
The ceremony was held on 3 October 2016 as part of the military logistics school’s commemorative day at the Vega-Payer-Weyprecht barracks in Vienna. “The key factor is always safety – of persons, processes and machines”, Dr Stefan Haas, CEO of TÜV AUSTRIA, summed up the nature of the collaboration. The Commander of the Austrian Armed Forces Logistics School, Brigadier Dieter Jocham, said he was looking forward to the future collaboration and the new synergies and opportunities arising from it for both parties. Section Leader Lieutenant General Norbert Gehart elaborated on current challenges and emphasised the collaboration’s importance. Andrea Kalchbrenner, Head of District Administration, and Member of the National Council, Otto Pendl, were pleased about the numerous, including international, joint operations of the military logistics school and wished the partnership with TÜV AUSTRIA Academy well.
Musical accompaniment to the ceremony was provided by the “Gardemusik Wien” marching band. A laying of a wreath and the blessing and presentation of the streamer concluded the event. Afterwards, goulash was served from the famous “Gulaschkanone” field kitchen.
