TÜV AUSTRIA Hellas certified the energy management systems of Larnaca and Paphos airports in Cyprus

The international standard specifies the general requirements for developing energy management systems in a company while focusing on identifying energy efficiency opportunities.
In addition, TÜV AUSTRIA Cyprus carried out the first verification of carbon dioxide emissions for the above airports in accordance with the requirements set out in the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) scheme of the Airports Council International Europe (ACI EUROPE). The scheme aims at the effective management and reduction of emissions that result from operating airports.

Ms Helen Kalogerou, Senior Executive Director of Hermes Airports Ltd, was gratified that the company obtained the ISO 50001:2011 certification in the field of energy management: “The certification places the two international airports of Larnaca and Paphos in the top category of airports worldwide that managed to obtain this important certification. This makes us very proud.”
