TÜV AUSTRIA-subsidiary TÜV TRUST IT recognised as an IEC 62443 inspection authority

TÜV TRUST IT underwent a comprehensive qualification audit according to the ISO/IEC 17025 standard, which the company successfully completed. As a newly recognized test center and expert for information security, TÜV TRUST IT GmbH Unternehmensgruppe TÜV AUSTRIA now offers testing according to the industrial security standard IEC 62443 for companies with networked industrial plants or manufacturers of smart industrial components.
Early detection and prevention of network abuse
IEC 62443 is a standard that allows networked industrial plants, industrial systems and industrial components to be tested for IT security. The increasing networking of industrial components with other IT systems over the past few years currently requires affected companies to pay greater attention to the topic of industrial security in order to be able to close any security gaps that may have arisen at an early stage. Based on the IEC 62443 test, companies can demonstrate the use of current cyber security standards for networked industrial systems and thus certify that the topic of IT security is given high priority. The verification is carried out after a passed test by handing out a corresponding certificate from an accredited certification body.
This procedure also describes a good and important development for TÜV TRUST IT, says Managing Director Detlev Henze: "We are very pleased that we can now add this important area to the broad TÜV AUSTRIA Group solution portfolio. Opening up industrial networks offers many advantages, but it also brings with it dangers that make it increasingly important for industrial companies to carry out security checks in this area.
